Bridport FC 1 Hamworthy United 2

Dorset County Youth League, Sunday, 17th February 2008

This was yet another performance where the dominance of possession and chances created did not reflect the score line, with the Hammers two nil halftime lead coming under threat late in the game.
Goals from Joe Byrne, who converted a penalty after Lorne Cooper-Blayney was pulled back in the box, and a  superb half-volley strike by Josh Reavenall-Nuete from the edge of the box, were all Hamworthy could show from a first half where they created enough chances to have won two matches.
However, early in the second half Bridport scored a goal that had previously never looked likely, after some sloppy defending by the Hammers, and the game suddenly became an even contest.
Chances came and went for both sides, with the Hammers creating the more clear-cut openings, although, a particularly outstanding save from stand in goalkeeper Charlie Gajic helped keep the score 2-1 to Hamworthy, who remain second in the table 2 points behind Westlands.

Team: Gajic, O’Reilly (Cole), Basing, Byrne, MacDonald (Capt.) (Norris), Chappell, Reavenall-Nuete, Holden, Haskell, Macklin, Cooper-Blayney
