League Champions Portland United started off where they finished off last season in winning form when three goals in each half saw the Islanders run in six goals with out reply against their visitors from Hamworthy United. For those who can’t remember it was Hamworthy United who inflicted Portlands only League defeat last season and that was the first match last season. A first half hat trick by Adam Linaker set the pattern and further goals game from Ross Doige, John Lamb and Alex Haloran.
