BLANDFORD UNITED 0 HAMWORTHY UNITED 2
Dorset Premier League (Sat 18-10-08)
The Reserves won their first Premier League match of the season, and lifted themselves two places away from the bottom spot, and up the table. It once again proved that progress is being made, and the team has now gone three games on the trot without a defeat.
The first half turned out to be fairly even, but as the first period was drawing to a close the Hammers scored. A ball from the right found Lee Thomas who was making his return up front for the team following an injury when playing for the first team. He took the ball on the half volley to score and send his side in happy at the break.
United had much the better of things in the second half with Brett Williams and Sean Griffiths controlling the defence, ably abetted by keeper Wayne Robbins at the back. The game was put beyond doubt four minutes from the end when substitute Adam Tilsed was on hand to volley in a corner at the far post, and make it 2-0 at the close of play.
