A United player knocked in the rebound, but according to the Referee he had encroached into the area as the kick was taken. The goal was therefore not allowed.

Hamworthy United versus Salisbury City

Tuesday 12-07-11 (Friendly)

Hamworthy United prepared for the new season by taking on Salisbury City from the Blue Square Southern Conference League. The game finished 0-0 with the Hammers on top for long periods of the game. Salisbury who played Bristol Rovers the night before fielded mainly a team of players on trial. Most had just been released by professional clubs and were seeking to impress and get a new contract from City. This made the game more competitive and gave United’s Simon Browne a good chance to check on the many new faces on view.
